What’s New for the 2020 Mazda CX-9?
Also new for 2020, a pair of all-new second-row captain’s chairs elevate the cabin to first-class status. The new configuration offers second-row armrests, spacious seating and easy access to the third row. The second-row captain’s chairs are available on Touring Premium Package and Grand Touring models. On the Grand Touring, second-row passengers get upgraded to a pair of heated seats.
The 2020 Mazda CX-9 also becomes the first model in the Mazda lineup to introduce the all-new off-road traction assist system. The new feature is designed to help maintain traction over rougher terrain. Instead of deactivating traction control altogether, pressing the traction assist button applies the brakes to the wheels without traction and redistributes power to the wheels still touching the ground.
Topping off the list of updates, all models from Touring and above bring in an all-new 9-inch touchscreen, which takes the place of the 8-inch display featured on the 2019 model. Other new-for-2020 features found on the Mazda CX-9 include the Mazda Advanced Keyless Entry and Start System and a power slide/tilt second-row bench seat.
