Mazda’s Approach to Safety

The term, i-ACTIVSENSE is an umbrella term that encompasses a series of advance safety technologies. These pieces of equipment use detection devices like radars and cameras to help predict hazards, respond to unsafe situations, and encourage defensive driving. In certain situations, this technology can help to avert collisions, or if they are unavoidable, reduce the severity of collisions.

Driver-Assistive Features

The i-ACTIVSENSE system driver-assistive features work to prevent accidents by supporting the ability to predict or avoid hazards. This part of the i-ACITVSENSE package includes the following technologies: Adaptive Front Lighting System, High Beam Control, Mazda Radar Cruise Control, Adaptive LED Headlights, Driver Attention Alert, Lane Keep Assist System, Blind Spot Monitoring, i-ACTIV AWD, Rear Vehicle Monitoring System, Lane Departure Warning System, Emergency Signal System, Forward Obstruction Warning, Brake Assist and Electronic Brake Force Distribution, 4-Wheel Anti-Lock Brake System, Dynamic Stability Control System and Traction Control System.

Pre-Crash Technologies

The second set of technologies within the Mazda safety spectrum are the pre-crash technologies. These systems work to reduce the severity of an accident and help keep you and your vehicle safer in the event of a collision. Smart City Brake Support is one of these technologies. This system helps the driver avoid or mitigate frontal collisions at certain speeds. Acceleration Control for Automatic Transmission is the other system in this category.
