Mazda Next-Generation Performance Technology and Equipment
Mazda is looking to the future of their driving technology. The Mazda SKYACTIV-X engine is a new platform developed by Mazda that is pushing the boundaries of what drivers can expect from their engine equipment. This revolutionary powerplant combines superior fuel efficiency with dynamic performance. Read on to find out more about Mazda next-generation performance technology and equipment.
Spark Controlled Compression Ignition (SPCCI)
This next-generation engine uses SPCCI technology. This means that the SKYACTIV-X engine is set to become the first commercial gasoline engine to use compression ignition to increase power and fuel efficiency simultaneously. This technology will allow the engine to have sharp responsiveness and powerful acceleration, while retaining and even improving the current efficiency ratings of Mazda engines.
In conjunction with the new SKYACTIV-X engine, Mazda has developed a new platform. This next-generation SKYACTIV-VEHICLE ARCHITECTURE increases the focus on driver-centered design. It maximizes intuitive movement within the vehicle cabin and increases the ease with which we operate our vehicles. These two technologies combined continue to improve the already stunning driving dynamics of Mazda vehicles.
In order to develop this technology, the Mazda design and engineering team reviewed every aspect of the Mazda vehicle platform to optimize driving dynamics and driver-centered performance. The result was an innovative approach to design that revamped the seating in the Mazda vehicles to create a more comfortable and natural structure. Designers also created a new body structure and chassis that help to create a smoother energy transfer. IN addition, these improvements reduce vibration and help to create a more quiet and smooth ride within the Mazda models.
