SKYACTIV®-G 2.5L with Cylinder Deactivation

New for model year 2019, the Mazda6 makes its Cylinder Deactivation system standard on all models equipped with the SKYACTIV®-G 2.5L DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder engine.

Mazda’s advanced Cylinder Deactivation technology shuts down two of the engine’s four cylinders in certain driving conditions. The shift cuts down fuel consumption without sacrificing performance by conserving excess power when it’s not needed, such as when cruising at constant speeds between 25-50 miles per hour. The result is enhanced EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings reaching up to 26 mpg city, 35 mpg highway. Power ratings for the SKYACTIV®-G 2.5L engine come in at 187 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque.

Standard on: 2019 Mazda6 Sport and Touring

SKYACTIV®-G 2.5T Dynamic Pressure Turbo

At the top end of the 2019 Mazda6 lineup, the sedan gets upgraded to a standard SKYACTIV®-G 2.5T DOHC 4-cylinder Dynamic Pressure Turbo engine. A certified adrenaline machine, the SKYACTIV®-G 2.5T is engineered to be ultra-responsive at low RPMs, making for powerful take-offs on a dime. The model returns 250 horsepower with the recommended 93 octane fuel – or 227 hp with 87 octane fuel – and hammers out 310 lb-ft of torque.

Standard on: 2019 Mazda6 Grand Touring, Grand Touring Reserve and Signature
