2019 Mazda CX-9 IIHS Safety Ratings and Top Safety Pick+
After putting the latest Mazda CX-9 through a barrage of intricate tests, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety sends the fine-tuned Mazda SUV back with the IIHS’s highest designation – Top Safety Pick+. To qualify for the Top Safety Pick+ award, a vehicle must earn “Good” ratings in all six of the organization’s categories for crashworthiness, a rating of “Advanced” or “Superior” for front crash prevention and a rating of “Good” in headlight quality.
